Riddick 4: Furya’s progress has been steadily gaining momentum. The decision by Universal Studios to proceed with a fourth Riddick series chapter was first revealed back in 2014. Vin Diesel revealed the title and confirmed the movie’s R rating in 2015. And it is revealed Riddick 4 would be titled Furya. Since then, pre-production on the film has stagnated. And also, Vin Diesel has been concentrating on the Fast & Furious franchise’s second eponymous character, Dom Toretto.

The first three films in the Riddick franchise—Pitch Black (2000), The Chronicles of Riddick (2004), and Riddick (2013)—were neither highly acclaimed nor huge box office successes. But because of how well-liked the Riddick character is, the franchise has been able to grow beyond the movie. Aside from this, the character has appeared in two pretty well-liked first-person stealth video games, an anime series, a comic book series, and a show called Merc City, a Riddick spinoff, which is currently in development.

Riddick 4 finally moving forward with vin diesel 10 years later

Riddick 4 is now moving forward with Vin Diesel’s return ten years after they first expressed their desire to return over a period of years.

Vin Diesel’s return for Riddick 4 has been confirmed, according to Deadline. The sci-fi action sequel will once again be written and directed by franchise creator David Twohy. The sequel was discussed in the following way by Twohy:

Our legion of fans has demanded it for years, and now we’re finally ready to honor their call to action Riddick: Furya. My collaboration with Vin and One Race has spanned 20 fruitful years, as together we’ve created three movies, two video games, an anime production, and motion comics for the internet. This new big-screen event will see a return to Riddick’s homeworld, where we finally get to explore Riddick’s genesis.

What Will be The Plot of Riddick 4: Furya?

It has been confirmed that the upcoming movie will be titled Riddick: Furya. And also, It will follow Diesel’s character as he returns to his home world. It is believed to be barren due to the Necromongers’ galactic conquest campaign from The Chronicles of Riddick. The newly revealed plot elements hint that Diesel’s protagonist will discover certain Furyan civilization relics that are still alive and actively battling for survival, inspiring him to band together with his people to rescue their homeland. Diesel previously hinted that Riddick 4 would explore the character’s origins, a plot point that was similarly set up at the conclusion of Riddick. This largely accords with Diesel’s previous teases.

Riddick 4: Furya, according to Vin Diesel, will explore the enigmatic beginnings of his character. Furya, Riddick’s homeworld, was depicted in The Chronicles of Riddick as a brutal place where only the strongest could live. The description on the storyboard slide that Vin Diesel posted on Instagram read:

“Scene 10 – The boy’s eyes gleam just like Riddick’s.” It featured Riddick in a spacesuit with a horrified expression on his face. Riddick’s past may be explored through encounters with individuals similar to him, such as a mysterious, speechless child.

Who will be back in the cast of Riddick 4:Furya?

The writers and directors of the original three movies will also be back for Riddick 4: Furya. The writers and directors of Riddick 4: Furya are the same as those of the prior three movies. Together with Jim Wheat and Ken Wheat, David Twohy will co-direct and co-write the film. 

There hasn’t been any casting started or at least made public. Because Furya is still in the early stages of production. Although the screenplay was finished in 2021, pre-production appears to have progressed to the storyboarding stage, based on a recent Instagram post by Vin Diesel.
